Lancashire versus Yorkshire.

Every September people throw black puddings underarm at a stack of Yorkshire puddings on a high plinth in Ramsbottom. Legend says it began in 1455 at Stubbins, when Lancaster and York forces ran out of ammunition and threw food. It is said to have been revived in 1839 and again in 1984. The 2026 event was on 13 September.
