Locked away for sixteen years.

Sir Thomas Holte is remembered as a man to fear. Birmingham Museums speaks of the 'grey ghost' of his daughter, locked away for 16 years. Ruth Millington names her as Mary Holte, held prisoner by her father after she planned to marry a man he did not approve of; the story says she never gave in and died of a broken heart. Birmingham Museums also mentions a lady in green who keeps watch over the Hall.
