Locked in the attic to await his master.

Aston Hall was built for Sir Thomas Holte, and Birmingham Museums calls it one of the most haunted buildings in the UK. Dick's Garret, the servants' dormitory on the second floor, is said to be the most haunted part. The story says Dick, a young houseboy accused of theft, was locked in the garret to wait for his master and took his own life.
