The Devil's hounds drive travellers over the edge.

The Dewerstone is a crag above the meeting of the Plym and Meavy. Wikipedia says 'Dewer' is the Devil, who rides a black horse with hounds and drives people over the rock (WP). The National Trust says Dewer commands the Wisht hounds. Hunt includes the Dewerstone on the Wish Hounds' route.
