Seven long strides shalt thou take.

The King Stone stands on the Warwickshire side of the Rollright Stones. The legend says a king marching with his army met a witch, who told him that if he could see Long Compton after seven strides he would be King of England. A mound rose up on his seventh stride, and the witch turned him and his men to stone. Our Warwickshire also tells of a farmer who took the King Stone for his farm and could not keep it.
