A murdered abbot still walks the grounds.

British History Online records that Abbot Geoffrey of Combe died violently in 1345, and Edward III ordered an inquiry. Visit Warwickshire says his hooded ghost walks the grounds and that a stablehand called Matilda put a curse on children born in the house. BBC Coventry & Warwickshire speaks of a 'frightening friar' who roams Coombe Abbey.
