I'm cauld!

A stable boy, Roger Skelton, was found asleep with the baron's horse unsaddled and was struck dead with a pitchfork; his body was thrown in a pond. His ghost haunted the kitchens crying that he was cold until staff left him a cloak and hood. An inquest in 1609 found Robert Hylton had killed Skelton with a scythe; Hylton was later pardoned.
