Lady Alice Peckett still walks the stairs, and One Eyed Jack paces the bar with his pistol.
The Golden Fleece stands on Pavement at the end of the Shambles in York, and York Press says it was built in 1503. Its name comes from the wool trade. John Peckett, a Lord Mayor of York, owned it, and the yard behind takes the name of his wife, Lady Alice Peckett. She is said to wander the corridors and staircases at night and move furniture. One Eyed Jack, in a red coat with a flintlock pistol, is said to pace the bottom bar. Other ghosts include a Canadian airman who fell from room four, a grumpy old man and a Victorian boy killed by horses.
