Ghosts of a lost battle by the river.

After the Battle of Tewkesbury on 4 May 1471, many fleeing Lancastrians died in the long meadow that is still called the Bloody Meadow. Great British Life tells of a ghost in a velvet doublet at the abbey, a screaming woman in white, and a Lancastrian in a dented breastplate at the Olde Black Bear.
