Was Elizabeth I a boy from Bisley?
The story says the young princess Elizabeth died while staying in Gloucestershire. Her guardians feared Henry VIII, so they put a red-haired local boy from Bisley in her place. That boy became Elizabeth I. Wikipedia calls it an urban legend, and HistoryExtra (2024) says history debunks it.
