A mock mayor is dunked, then the cheeses roll.
Randwick Wap is a May procession with a Wap Mayor and Queen carried shoulder-high, a dunking at a spring, and two Double Gloucester cheeses rolled downhill. The Stroud Times says it is thought to be medieval, was banned in the late 19th century, and was revived in 1972. The Wap website gives 3 May and 9 May 2026.
