If this cup should break...

The Luck of Edenhall is a 14th-century enamelled glass beaker, now in the V&A. It was first named in 1677 in the will of Sir Philip Musgrave. Legend says fairies left it behind when a household member disturbed them drinking at a well in the Eden Hall garden. Breaking the cup was said to doom the family's luck.
