Village on the northern edge of Swindon.

  • Broad Blunsdon
  • Near A419
  • The pin marks the village; the exact spot isn't recorded.

Usually it is just a crow. Usually.

BBC Wiltshire's round-up of devilish Wiltshire says that at Blunsdon, near Swindon, the Devil has been seen taking the shape of a crow. It sets this beside his hare at Warminster and his black dog at Longbridge Deverill. Beyond that the page tells nothing: no date, no witness and no reason he chose Blunsdon. It is the one Swindon-area tale in this batch, and it is thin. A crow on a fence post is, after all, usually only a crow.
