Water for the Tiddy Mun.

Tiddy Mun was a tiny white-bearded spirit of the Ancholme carrs who laughed like a peewit and could make floodwater fall. In floods, families went out at the new moon and called 'Tiddy Mun, wi'out a name, tha watters thruff!' When Dutch engineers drained the carrs, the tale blames his anger for illness, dying livestock and missing Dutchmen. M. C. Balfour printed the tale in 1891.
