A lord who loved a stampede.

Stamford ran a bull through its streets each year until 1839. The tale says William de Warenne watched two bulls fight in the meadow and joined the chase on horseback. He then gave the meadow to the butchers if they ran a bull every year. Historians call this origin story fiction.
