A deposed king's screams still echo in the walls.

In 1327 the deposed Edward II was held at Berkeley Castle. Wikipedia says the castle is traditionally thought to be where he was murdered. Gloucestershire Live (2025) calls it one of the most gruesome deaths in royal history and says his screams are said to echo round the castle.
