Paper-clad men act an old play every Boxing Day.

Every Boxing Day at 11am, the Marshfield Mummers (the Old Time Paper Boys) perform their play in the Market Place, in costumes made of strips of paper. Wikipedia says the vicar heard his gardener mumble a line of it in 1931, and his sister, the folklorist Violet Alford, helped revive it. The Stroud Times reported the Boxing Day 2025 show.
