An MP builds himself a pyramid tomb and has the village pub moved three miles to make room.

John 'Mad Jack' Fuller (1757–1834), MP for Sussex, built follies around Brightling. His mausoleum, The Pyramid, stands in the churchyard next to his house at Rose Hill. The story goes that, as part of building The Pyramid, Fuller had the village pub, The Green Man, opposite the church, moved about three miles away to Oxley's Green.
