A squire so wicked they built a house over his grave to keep him in.

In the churchyard of Holy Trinity stands the Cabell sepulchre, a small building with an iron grille over the tomb of Richard Cabell. Wikipedia says he died in 1677, was said to have sold his soul to the Devil, and that a phantom pack howled at his tomb; Baring-Gould wrote the penthouse was built to stop him coming up. Children used to walk round the tomb and poke a finger through the keyhole to raise the Devil. The church notes these tales fed Conan Doyle's Hound of the Baskervilles.
