Count them twice.

Castlerigg is a late Neolithic stone circle ringed by fells near Keswick. Counts of its stones differ, with some giving 38 and others 42, and tradition says they cannot be counted the same way twice. English Heritage notes it was probably linked to the midwinter sunrise.
