Four bears tell a story.

Four weathered stone figures stand at the corners of Dacre churchyard. In 1890 Chancellor Ferguson thought they told a four-part story: a bear asleep, a small animal climbing onto it, a struggle, and the bear eating it. Their date and purpose remain unknown.
