She asked for one last thing, and was refused.
The Grey Lady is the best known of Dudley Castle's ghosts. She is said to be Dorothy Beaumont, wife of the Royalist second in command, who died at the castle during the Parliamentary siege of 1646. Tradition says she asked to be buried beside her baby, and that neither of her last wishes was granted. The Friends of Dudley Castle record a 1966 sighting of a woman in a white gown.
