A fiddler went into the tunnel playing, the village followed overhead, and at this mound the tune just stopped.

Fiddler's Hill is a Bronze Age burial mound at a crossroads between Warham and Binham, cut in half by roadworks in 1933. Legend says a tunnel ran from Binham Priory to Walsingham, or to Blakeney according to the Norfolk Archaeological Trust. Nobody dared go down it, so a fiddler volunteered and played as he walked, so that the villagers could follow the music overhead. At this spot the music suddenly stopped. He was never seen again, and some said the Devil had taken him. In some versions his dog came running out of the tunnel alone. A black-robed monk is also said to haunt the priory.
