An empty Baroque mansion, roofless and windowless, said to be the most haunted house on the island.
Appuldurcombe House near Wroxall was once the grandest house on the island, the Baroque home of the Worsley family, set in a park landscaped by Capability Brown. It fell into ruin in the 20th century, and is now largely an empty shell, though part of its front has been re-roofed and glazed. Wikipedia says the house has become well known as one of the most haunted places on the island, with many claimed sightings of ghosts and phantoms. No particular ghost is named in the fetched text.
